In 2020, the men and women of the Manassas Park Police Department continued their mission to provide for the safety of our community with courage, service, and pride. It is an honor to serve the citizens, businesses and visitors to this progressive and diverse community.
Manassas Park has a rich history and an exciting future.
For local governments across the nation, the difficult economy of the last several years has made it more challenging to provide services to their constituents. The Manassas Park Police Department remains focused on the provision of quality law enforcement and crime prevention services in the face of those challenges. A preliminary review of 2018 crime reports reveals that the department is handling the anticipated increase in drug related crimes, and theft from vehicles, through increased patrols and the efforts of officers participating in regional drug & narcotics task-force.
The Manassas Park Police Department takes pride in their fifth re-accreditation by the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission.
The Mayor and the City Council provide the resources to address public safety in the City. The Manassas Park Police Department is comprised of men and women, sworn and non-sworn, who proudly serve the more than 17,000 citizens of the City.
Members of this department are committed to providing quality customer service and demonstrating core values that include integrity, honesty, reliability and truthfulness. Our mission is to proudly serve the citizens of Manassas Park, using philosophies of community/police partnerships, pro-active crime prevention strategies, citizen and community input, and constant introspection.
I am proud to serve as Chief of Police. On behalf of the Manassas Park Police Department,
thank you for working with us to make the City a great place to live and work.
Colonel Mario Lugo – Chief of Police
