On October 24, 2020 at 10:15pm, Lt. D. Walker was off-duty, on Lomond Drive when he observed a Toyota passenger car traveling in the opposite direction. For unknown reasons, the Toyota lost control, struck a parked vehicle, and instantly burst into flames. The fire quickly spread to two additional parked vehicles as well as the power lines above.
Lt. Walker, without hesitation for his own life and safety, extricated the driver from the Toyota who was unconscious. The driver, whose name is being withheld at this time, regained consciousness and ultimately refused medical treatment. The driver was taken into custody by Prince William County Police and charged with driving under the influence.
